The run-of-river hydropower plant was commissioned in 1980 and has a generating capacity of 4 MW.
Statkraft took over the power plant from E.ON Energie at the beginning of 2009.
The Wahnhausen plant consists of one Kaplan turbine and is operated from the run-of-river hydropower plant Werrawerk.
Statkraft protects biodiversity and has established fish-friendly operations. We monitor eel migration with special devices (migromates) and switch to fish-friendly operation mode as soon as eels start to migrate towards the sea.
